The series targets diverse markets, including industrial control, building automation, home appliances, power tools, and sensor systems. A key feature is its pin-to-pin compatibility with AVR® MCUs, facilitating easy migration for engineers within Microchip’s unified MCU ecosystem.

Integration of Core Independent Peripherals (CIP) allows time-sensitive tasks to be offloaded from the CPU, enhancing real-time performance and power efficiency. The MCU includes an on-chip Peripheral Touch Controller (PTC) and a 12-bit ADC, supporting responsive touch interfaces and robust analog signal measurement.

For development, the series is supported by Microchip’s MPLAB® ecosystem and is compatible with industry-standard tools such as Microsoft Visual Studio Code, IAR Systems, and Arm Keil. This provides developers with flexible options for software design and debugging.
